2. The Clapback app
- Names and game entries (terms, answers, guesses, votes) are stored on the device so an evening can resume after an interruption, and are sent to the other devices of your group during the evening. Secret entries are only shown to the devices allowed to see them.
- A random device key in the device keychain is used only to connect your group's devices securely.
- Transfer: devices talk directly and encrypted over the shared Wi-Fi or a direct Wi-Fi connection between the devices. iOS asks for the “Local Network” permission, which you can revoke in Settings at any time.
- Sharing: the evening recap or a diagnostics log only leaves your device if you share it yourself.
We do not receive any of this data (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). It stays on your device until you delete the app.
3. App Store and TestFlight
Apple processes data when you download the app via the App Store or TestFlight (apple.com/legal/privacy). With TestFlight, Apple forwards feedback and screenshots you send (with your name and email) and, if you allow it in iOS, crash reports.
4. This website
The website is delivered by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA), which processes technically necessary data such as IP address, time, page and browser details to serve the site and protect it from attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. No cookies, no analytics, no third-party embeds; the font is self-hosted.
5. Email
If you write to us, we process your email address and message to reply. Incoming email is forwarded by Cloudflare to our mailbox at Google. We delete correspondence once it is settled and no retention obligation applies.
6. Your rights
You have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
